1. i visited the basovizza foiba today and was overwhelmed by all the killing that took place in there just after ww2. it doesn't matter if it was perpetrated mainly by yugoslav partisans or italian fascists, the result was more than 10000 deaths and it's a shame that the left party covered up the subject for decades. the place was declared national monument only in 1992.

2. back on saturday, we spent a lovely night out with sandra and david, our slovene friends. it was sandra's birthday and they took us to dinner to celebrate. i always talk about her in this blog and never post any pic, but yesterday al took a nice shot of us out in the retro gardens in izola and i want to share it. here we go, sandra. we rock! :)

3. petals by amy lowell

Life is a stream
On which we strew
Petal by petal the flower of our heart;
The end lost in dream,
They float past our view,
We only watch their glad, early start.

Freighted with hope,
Crimsoned with joy,
We scatter the leaves of our opening rose;
Their widening scope,
Their distant employ,
We never shall know. And the stream as it flows
Sweeps them away,
Each one is gone
Ever beyond into infinite ways.
We alone stay
While years hurry on,
The flower fared forth, though its fragrance still stays.

4. i'm nearly finished with home improvements in my studio. i'll post pics soon, related to an interesting post on writers' room. so stay tuned!

5. we joined another nice event on friday afternoon. the crafts lab i always try to take alice to on tuesdays in slovenia at the merkator mall in koper organized a party for the mall's baby clients and all its regular followers. the team is just amazing, they're so talented and played their own music while offering different workshops. they even gave us a personalised mousepad with the following photo.

what a nice reward for being such regular supporters! thanks andrej and team! xoxox

6. tomorrow it's gonna be a BIG day. there's alice's final recital, she'll get her diploma from kindergarten and we all can't wait. i don't know where these 3 years are gone but i'm determined not to be too emotional tomorrow. i don't think i'll succeed but well, let me fully enjoy this moment, as there won't be any replicas in the future. al and i just had a deep discussion tonight, we won't have any more kids :((((( and i'm trying my best to suppress my discontent but well, that's life. you can't have it all and you need to compromise if you want your marriage to work, right? what the f... all the same! #@¶&&&!
